We moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in August of 2016 and we have yet to run out of things to do! Although we have not done everything (yet) that Puerto Vallarta has to offer, we have found some really amazing things to do and see in Puerto Vallarta! If you have been watching our videos on YouTube, you have probably noticed a pattern of what we like to do. If you have not seen our videos, check them out-we have some pretty terrible/sweet dance moves sometimes!
So without further ado, here are our top 5 favorite things to do in Puerto Vallarta!
♦ The Malecon
Located right along the coast, the Malecon is a long stretch of shops, restaurants, and entertainment! Walking along the Malecon is the perfect way to spend an evening in Puerto Vallarta! We like to visit the Lady of Our Guadalupe Church, eat street food, watch performers at the amphitheater, grab a paloma at Devil's Bar, and catch an incredible sunset on the Malecon.
♦ Playa Los Muertos
Amazing water, plenty of shops and restaurants, and a constant party. What more could you want in a beach!? Playa Los Muertos is located in the heart of the Romantic Zone in Puerto Vallarta. You will find many beach bars (our favorite is "Swell"), restaurants, and water sport activities to immerse yourself in. We typically just people watch and enjoy the many bands playing banda music in the background!

♦ Eat
The food in Puerto Vallarta is amazing! It really is one of the best kept secrets. People here rave about the beaches, mountains, zip lining, and all of the amazing things to do, but people don’t talk enough about how awesome the food is! Whether you want authentic Mexican food, Asian, German, Italian, or American food, Puerto Vallarta serves it up right! As of right now we are on a mission to try as many restaurants as we can (challenge accepted ;) ) Every time we try a new place we are always surprised by how good it is! At what point do we stop being surprised!?
A few recommendations to get you started: Taqueria Las Gueras, Coco’s Kitchen, Frankie’s Spaghetti House, Cafe de Olla, Salud Super Food...the list could go on forever :)
♦ Playa Amapas Conchas Chinas
Playa Conchas Chinas is the perfect beach to get away from the crowds and relax! The water is crystal clear, the rocks are picturesque, and there are plenty of sea shells to find. This beach is a great spot that is a little more secluded and quiet than Playa Los Muertos.
♦ Explore Los Arcos
Los Arcos is an incredible place to witness the true beauty of Puerto Vallarta. The rocks themselves are amazing to see up close, but the fish beneath the water’s surface are even better! We suggest taking the orange bus to Mismaloya and hiring a small boat to take you snorkeling. We have paid around $15-20 USD per person for a group of 6 to snorkel for an hour, which seemed to be the perfect amount of time.
There is so much to do in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. If you only have a few days in Vallarta, we suggest checking out a few of our favorites! What are your favorite things to do in Puerto Vallarta? It was really hard to narrow this list down to five things, so you really can’t go wrong here in Vallarta. Relax, smile, and take in everything this city has to offer!
Until next time, Have Less. Do More. Be More.
