Nobody Likes a Secret...

Feliz Friday! We hope you all have had an amazing week so far. Here's what we have been up to!

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO THIS WEEK?

Greg-- I am trying something radical...For the next 30 days I am not using my phone. I will still use it to send the occasional text message or call my Mom, but no social media, no Youtube, no mindlessly scrolling through idiotic sports blogs. I was addicted to my phone. I carried it with me everywhere. The amount of time I spent watching Youtube videos was mind-boggling.

I am about one week to this 30 day challenge and I already feel so much better. My mind feels more clear, I have more time to read, more time to relax, and more time to focus on the things that truly matter to me.

If you are feeling distracted and want to make a radical change in your life, I suggest giving it a try!

Hillary-- I know nobody likes secrets, but in this case I have to keep it a secret! 😉

We are working on a huge project that we think a lot of you are really going to enjoy and appreciate. With that said, this week has included a lot of emails, phone calls, designing, stressing, planning, and dreaming. This is by far the biggest endeavor we have ever taken on and we can't wait to announce what it is whenever the time is right!

THE BEST FOOD OF THE WEEK

Shrimp, BBQ ribs, chicken fried coconut yellow curry rice, coconut soup, is your mouth watering yet? This week we had the pleasure of eating at Archie's Wok. The attention to detail From the food, to the atmosphere, to the service, the attention to every single detail at Archie's is outstanding! If you are looking for the perfect spot for a romantic date or a fancy evening with friends, Archie's Wok is perfect! Address: Francisca Rodríguez 130, Zona Romántica, Puerto Vallarta

SPANISH TIP OF THE WEEK

This is a tough one this week. In all honesty, we haven't done a good job of studying Spanish since Christmas 😳

We might not be advancing much with our Spanish, but the key to maintaining a level of conversational Spanish for us is in using the language whenever we are out and about in the city. If you are trying to learn Spanish make sure that you are always ordering food in Spanish, asking for directions in Spanish, and using the language as much as you can while you are out of the house.

I know that taxi drivers, waiters, etc. may try and speak English to you, but just respond in Spanish! It may seem odd or difficult at first, but if you just tell them you are trying to practice, they'll be incredibly grateful that you are trying to learn their language and they will go out of their way to help you.

The only way you are going to learn and grow your confidence level is by having a lot, I mean a lot, of small conversations.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

It is hard to believe that this was almost a year ago already! We talk about this trip all of the time. I think we will remember it even more than Carlo will! If you haven't seen this one, it's time!

PLANS FOR NEXT WEEK

We have some fun ideas over the next week for you. For the last week, we tracked every peso that we spent and we are going to put together a video explaining exactly how much we spent and how we spent it. We hope that can give you a better insight into just how much you can expect to spend while living in Mexico.

We don't have any travel plans for the next week so we are hoping to just enjoy the sunshine and nice weather here in Puerto Vallarta. There are so many places we want to visit in Mexico this year, but in all honesty, we kind of want to wait until the weather in Puerto Vallarta isn't so dang nice! We suffered through rainy season and the hot summer months, we deserve the 60 degree mornings, okay!

We hope you all have a great weekend!
