Isla Mujeres-Where to Stay and What to Do

We recently spent a few days on the magical island of Isla Mujeres, about a 25 minutes ferry ride off the coast of Cancun. Home to around 13,000 people, this tiny island boasts a full spirit in terms of island life and nightlife, and encompasses the true spirit of a small Mexican downtown.

Where to Stay

We partnered with Everything Isla for our stay on the island and before we even arrived, we were greeted via text message from our personal concierge, Julia! Julia provided awesome ideas and recommendations for attractions, restaurants, and nightlife. When we arrived, she met us right at the ferry dock to guide us to our house for three days, known as “Casa Jalapeño“. This house has a nice, well sized modern kitchen, ice cold air conditioner throughout, and is in the absolute BEST location! One street off of the pedestrian street, it is quiet yet so close to all the action on the island!

Everything Isla not only provided excellent options for accommodations, but they really helped coordinate the entire trip! Our concierge Julia was available throughout our stay to answer all of our questions that popped up and recommended some awesome, less well known places on the island!

What to Do

We had a nice stroll along the rocky, less busy Caribbean side of the island followed by an incredible breakfast at North Garden. (Seriously–this place was SO good we actually went back the next day!) Later in our trip we grabbed a taxi from right outside our house and rode all the way to the southern tip of the island. This spot is the eastern most part of Mexico so we were the first people in the entire country to catch the sunrise (Youtube video coming soon)!

Of course we spent several hours at the island’s famous beach, North Beach lounging under palm trees and admiring the calm, crystal clear waters. We had an incredible few days on the island and cannot wait to go back to explore even more of this tiny sliver of paradise! We would highly recommend Everything Isla for ANY trip to Isla Mujeres-they really know all of the ins and outs across the island and are a one-stop-shop for everything to help create the perfect trip!

Everything Isla also offers transportation services, golf cart rentals, grocery shopping, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing charters, sunset cruises, whale shark excursions, wing diving, massages, private chefs, reservations to beach clubs and parks, and anything and everything else under the sun to help create the absolute best vacation!
